Your best bet for mirror finish polishing is a bench grinder with polishing mops and polishing compounds, its all about the rpm of what your using to polish with.
You could use a drill in a vice, but it needs to be a high rpm drill really.
If you go to a professional polisher who runs his own one man business,
expect to pay around £35-£40 to get a rocker cover polished and around £60-£75 to get the intake manifold done.

may help!
Thanks! Most helpful. Wasn't going as high as 2000 though, mine idles at about 700-1000rpm. Didn't do it this morning so thinknig it might have been a patch of rubbish in the fuel filter or similar…
sorry man my bad oh well u can all say wot u want truth is im paying for mine to be installed and meh its klze in mx-3 dosent matter who puts it in as long as it goes like a bat out of hell once its in there.
the service is not hard to do yourself, i done mine and have limited knowledge of cars, altho i have been able to turn my hand to pretty much anything i put my mind to.
If you can afford to i would suggest a garage coz atleast then anything goes wrong you can fall back on your warrenty that they give you, when doing it yourself you dont have this luxury unfortunatly
@807b13c171=Lequetis:
get them to check your belts and pully's while there at it, in less you know exsactly when they where replaced before???
Thats in the list of things they'd check; although it should be in the service history somewhere.
Bloody hell £300! Better be good!
Mind you, mine feel alot better with new fluid, you notice it when you stamp on them! Thinking about getting grooved disks and EBC Greens, but as I've just spent a load of money on the service it might take a while!
I agree about the pipe - Mazda want £100 odd for it. They can go swivel!
RE the disty; it seems to be performing fine, but as a new one is only £20 its tempting to do it anyway (I'm also pleased they noticed it; a sign they did the service properly!)
hi
i had the same problem with my k8, take a look at the topic an see if it works for you. (saves explaining it twice!)

hey, just south. West Linton? Gave the car a service 2day and its not improved, got the sniffer out and the cars running very very rich. So what i think is happening is that when i rev it and take the foot off the engine floods itself.
Full timming belt kit put on it,new belt, pulleys the whole lot. Even changed power stearing fluid too! wasnt bad price, only charged me 30 quid to have it towed away too!
I removed mine , becuase when my car cought fire ( :( ) The metal pipes melted so I had no choice. It was 500 dllrs or more to re install.
I took off the ac condencer, ac motor and belt. Its alot of heavy stuff there by the way. All I did is at the parts store asked for the belt without AC and they gave me the correct belt.
I think that may be it. Bad gasoline can hurt the fuel filter and cause the car to smoke. You need to use some sort of preservative for the petrol. It would not hurt to change the fuel filter and give it a shot again.
