RAT PICK UP - GO FOR IT :D :D
Funny you should put that particular picture up DJ as he is my car's new mascot. He's been sat in my house waiting for stardom again and here he is sat in my passenger seat

Well, boy am I a little relieved. I took the car down to the garage today to let them check to see how bad the sump is to replace (check all the bolts were still, bolts and where the exhaust came into play, etc). They told me it would be easy to fix and I asked a few other things to be checked over. I'd been rather quick one day in jacking the car up and put it in the wrong place and inevitably put the jack through my sill (instant fail on MOT), again easy to fix, couple of hours cutting and welding and should be fine. Exhaust needs re welding after an incident with a high kerb, but a 5 min job. I should think it'll cost under £200 to keep it on the road (they also said the water pump is leaking and they'll try to find out where and sort that too).
So people, VIVE LE RAT!
This project will keep getting better (well that's a loose term of the word  ) and I'm getting a price soon for the pickup conversion! FTW!!!!!
-
Yay! :D Great to see the rat shall live because it's one of the reasons I keep looking on here!!
The water pump should be replaced every 60k miles with the t.belt & tensioner anyway so it might be an idea just to get them all done? The kit inc. water pump is pretty cheap, my dad just bought one for my old car and I think it was around £100.

Thanks to Lori the future should be less leaky  Cheers bud saved me having to cut off one of my good limbs there

Knowing I can't rely on my bike has made me work harder on getting things right. The missus has decided she doesn't want a company car as the offer of mo' money makes more sense (and I agree, if we want a new car we can save with her pay rise) and the attention I've been getting through doing this to Bert has been spectacular, it's thrown up a whole load of interesting ideas (obviously the pickup idea is the biggest but there's other things ticking that aren't bank balance worrying).
I think not giving a crap is definitely the way forward for me, when I want things to be smooth and clean and pristine I just get angry with the world. I haven't tried to kill anyone recently…......... which is nice. Driving is an laugh again and not just a routine (now I just need to get the leaks sorted the welding done and my knees fixed and all will be cushty).

Rising sun looks awesome! I'm getting new spats next week. Going to try that too! :P

I'm sure you won't do it with normal house paint like I have though
One bit of advice. Make sure before you spray it that the white bits are all matching. It's not an easy thing to get right first time (hell, I didn't really care with mine). I'd definitely mask up take a step back see if it looks right, measure all the sections, etc. Otherwise it could end up looking very wrong.

I live 2 streets down from a police station and also my work place is in the same area as the main head quarters
All is legit at the moment (bar the number plate positioning-I think).
-
think the number plate needs to be angled at to be visible from a certain angle, i think its find where it is as its not recessed and visible from a front and angled perspective.
-
well this is the official answer, so make of it what you can interpret.
