Sam's Proper MX-3 - LT Turbo project *Parting out*
-
yeah that could be done, or a bit of heat might
persuade it!?
-
Been told that there is absolutley
no give in the spoiler, so it will have to
be cut and filled back together, using some rods
and fibreglass, made a cardboard map of the bootlid
this morning so I can adjust it within ballpark in the kitchen
then take out to the car for finalising. I think the undersides
of the spoiler legs will have to be honed into shape too!
-
Try getting plastercine, get it really hot and soft and put it on the car then push the spoiler into it, this will give you the shape needed to make a small plastic filler so it fits the body tight instead of cutting the base of the spoiler and having to remake mounts etc
-
excellent suggestion!
-
Won an Alfa spoiler last night for 42 quid,
so will have some pictures of that in a few weeks..But for now Im going to be working on my new mirrors
as I got the correct base plates off Hammyglos ( Thanks again mate)not quite sure what Im doing with them yet though
-
No Probs Bud…
Can't wait to see what ya do with them 8)
-
At the moment… just staring at them :?
-
ok I think the easiest and best solution
is going to be mount the mirrors to door recess
left by the old mirrors and make a blanking
plate for the triangle thats left, or make a new
baseplate completely and mount mirrors to that, the old base
plate is going to be to involved to make work!
mirrors will be getting painted red along with the base plates
although it would be cool if the top part of the base plate remained black…
-
If you are keeping them like that on the car, what about getting some interior covers for them and swapping sides to the outside to make them fit, would that work ????
Maybe this stuff would cover the holes

I'll check out tommorrow, truly inspired if it does :D
-
project wingmirror failed! Too ambitious!
Closest replacements to what I like is these
from the US.
-
They arent too bad those mirrors but they do need painting because the plastic is very cheap but they fit perfect.
-
Yeah they would be getting pro sprayed red regardless.
These ones might flow better with the car, but I'd have
to remove and refill that turn signal bit!
Gutted I cant use my Vitalonis
-
Found a few people on .com who have them,
but they dont seem to paint them, so I had to
PS it quickly
-
Incedently I made some templates for the door mirror bases
so if anyone wants to use them drop me a PM :)
old mirrors sold, new mirrors bought!
-
damn. Looks awsome. keep up the good work :D
-
Take a mirror template to the scrappy and see what you can get that is slightly larger and then cut it down
-
yeah could do, one day, if i could be arsed
Its that big dollopy bit at the bottom of the base
that meets with the wing that caused the issue.new Celicas look like they might have dollopy mirrors too.
-
just a couple of pictures before they go off
for painting, they do need some finishing work aswell
bit rough round the base plate edges!
apart from that I like 'em, will see how
they look on later just need some screws.
-
They don't look half bad at all… :P
