UPDATE TIME…..
New back box fitted (sounds damn good)
Rusty bits on wipers painted.
Complete interior clean.
All electrical faults finally sorted...So far so good…..
-
Stage one of the engine bay clean up.
Stripped off the front rocker cover.
Placed in dishwasher (dont tell the wife!!!!!)
Dried, rubbed down polished and refitted, looking good.
Next engine bay jobs- Red Ground wire kit and Red braiding for pipes and cables. Piping from the air filter to a scoop.
-
lol! Dishwasher - fantastic! Looks well ;) I think you should paint the mazda letters red or black
-
Now thats a damn fine idea Marco…...
Also got rid of the now unused air intake box that supported the bonnet holding open thingy. New brackets made for the support and air filter.
-
looks good man!!!!! ru gonna get a cold air induction kit??? looks the dogs and improves the power!!!!
-
Cheers Chris :)
Ive got a plan for the cold air induction kit. Going to get some Metal flexi tubing and install it between the Air filter I have fitted now and an air scoop at the lowest point on the engine bay to be made from aluminum plate. I can only find 120mm flexy metal tubing in silver at the moment, what I really want is red. Also I will have to move the coolant header tank, so looking at how im going to do that.
-
WELL man thats easy because its not pressurised so any length of pipe to the bottle will work!!!!! just make sure that the new bottle holds about a litre.!!!!!!
-
gave me an idea about replacing all the header tanks in engine for stainless steal or alloy. then can paint up or shine.
-
Ive looked into that one valley, seen a few online that come painted or shiny, thats given me an idea for a project in the new year.
Update on CAI fitting.
Finally got some metal tubing so fitted the cold air induction, one of the very few times that Halfords worked out cheaper than anywhere else. this is possibly the last bit of project for me for a month or so as im back to work now and cant spend all day playing round with my MX3 :(
-
UPDATE…
Ground wire kit (courtsey of santa) fitted.
Turned out to be quite an easy job taking about an hour. I found that attaching the earthing points to the lights was damn easy on an MX3 as there are earth connector blocks on each side of the engine bay.
It has made a difference to ease of starting and the front lights seem a little brighter. She seems to run a little smoother as well.
Engine bay is finaly getting there. Just got a new pressure washer so will give it a damn good clean out in there when i get the chance.
-
dude sorry to hear about your clutch!!! (found your car on ebay.)
-
unlucky mate. All the best with whatever you get next! Though I think your mad selling your car (at all ) without a clutch, one of those things you'd actually get more money if you fixed it!
-
-
Can you guys believe this beauty sold for £421?
Thats disgraceful
-
wish i could have brought here to the states :( i would have paid him more than that sigh
-
yeah no kidding I want a RHD mx-3 so bad :?
-
how come you want a RHD?
-
the plastic part at the front that you removed and made new brackets, doesnt that help with the air intake?
great work on the car tho, the engine bay work u did has inspired me 2 start cleaning mine up, duno if ill put it in the dishwasher tho!haha
