you ever lifted up boot carpet to see if there is any signs of damage to rear end in previous ownership?
-
yeah defo stay away from corsa's and please, if you can stay away from saxos (my pet hate). fair do's £375 for 2 years of driving is pretty bloody good if you ask me. i expect you will be back to an mx-3 once you have driven some of the other shite out there for the same price. :)

If you remember I ran a stripped back end at some point, there were no signs of crumple - age, the front looks a little wrong but that's about it. I think Bert has said "hello" to a wall at some point sideways.

I very much doubt it sadly, I've never really got on with the MX3, I love the car from the front and some aspects of the side, but it's that hideous green house on the back that I hate (I've already spat my dummy over this part of the car so I won't go into it again- I just hate the tail gate).
TBH, a well done saxo can look good (like a J Euro style- big power and OEM, slammed and cambered). I'm more than likely heading diwn the MicRaT K11 route (slammed, dished and dirty).

And when I say MicRat, I mean something like this….
-
Tbh dude just check cables around the alternator and battery cables could be an easy fix if there a bit frayed rusted get the most out the remaining mot on it even if it is a bodge job
-
K11 turbo would be awesome mate. yeah the mx is a bit of a marmite car from the back. its a bit probe ish but i loved the styling. to me saxo = chav car, yes they handle well and are fairly nippy for 1.6 but i just hate them with a serious passion lol

Seconded! shite cars
-
My main project car is a Micra (K10)
Amazingly reliable cars.Like most, if not all, Nissan cars, everything is over-engineered to take more than it needs.
For e.g. a 1.6 Primera Engine (115 bhp) on stock internals could take up to almost 400BHP!!Join up to the MSC (Micra Sports Club) if you do decide to convert :)
-
lol I had a mk1 saxo when it was 6 months old in 1999, was fantastic until it broke down one day, took it to citreon they put it on the computer and it was crap from that day on

I think I'll be heading down the Micra route to be honest. I used to hate them with a passion, but after seeing some seriously stanced ones with some serious engine modifications, I've been turned around, cheap insurance, cheap to run and cheap tax, the only thing is finding one that doesn't need the sills welding apparently.
-
From all the micras that came into my work the sills were either gone or close to it
There pants bud all nissans are bad for the old tin worm

**I drove a K11 Micra 1.3 once. The wheel was positioned as if the driver was a trucker (or bus driver), the engine was as responsive as a teenager at 8.30am on a Sunday, it took bends like a fat man in a hammock and it braked like a rollerblader on an ice rink. All in it was about as much fun as a dead leg - with as much feeling.
I got out of that utter crap-pile and into my car and it felt like I was Ayrton Senna (not the dead, wall-headbutting one). Bear in mind my car at the time was a Mk3 Fiesta 1.3…**
-
They are total crap standard. Everyone knows that.
I don't even like K11s, personally! I'm a K10 man!Want a cheap run-around that will last forever? Buy a Micra. Simple as that.

It won't actually be forever. It'll just feel like it.

Yeah, the guy calls himself "Hooded Reaper" on the forums. He's got a good eye and taste for modding.

It was more a comment that driving a Micra makes a ten minute journey feel like a month. There's no coincidence that most Micra owners are very young or very old - they get the cars as teenagers and, bam, fifty years is added to them overnight…

**He didn't when I first encountered him…
Of course that was before he drove it into the back of the car in front:
Twice:
And we won't mention how he mounted his "harnesses" in the red one:
Except to say "Fuck me! Does he want to die in a crash?". Luckily it never happened, because with his good eye for modding he mounted his cold air intake feed in his wheel well, drove through a puddle too fast and killed the bulletproof engine to death…
Of course that was three years ago and he may have changed since then.**

I completely agree with that, something very unusual in the way it was all written, like an epilogue or something
Saw that harness kit and was gobsmacked, did like the crashing and arch K&N mods, genius :D
