brilliant, gotta love oldies, my work mate used to have a pug 306 diesel that was so noisy because it was crap and french it would wake her everyday and he got grief for years for that, when the cambelt went she came out and waved it off on the scrap lorry lmfao
Thanks for your replies, I finished up getting some 8 mm. round section soft rubber and glueing in to the corrugation where the crack was with contact adhesive ,the car runs nicely now.

there are 2 types of distributor with different rotor arms and firing orders, i just wonder if the gearing on the end has different teeth that may put the timing out
usually they have a label stuck on them but if no check the caps, the caps are slightly different on both I think the later one has a ridge on the cap and the earlier one is missin that
also lookin at the probe forums they say they are interchangeable so its very possibly they changed the firing order on the dizzy but all you have to do is change the connections on the cap with th leads :)
Thanks guys - changed plugs and leads AND silica gelled a split in the air pipe and she's running sweet !!
Ta very much for your help.
Mark
pd if anyone needs touch up paint I've just got some from a place in Ireland - Blaze red SQ code - cheap as chips and spot on colour.
@dd0ca62ddf=cparsons1980:
has anyone got any info on a KLDE Turbo conversion…...not that i can even consider it at the min but its something that could interest me in a few years when i've freed some cash up
Check out the projects on this and MX3.com, both awesome sources of info on both, honestly you could build a car with some of their guides but there are lots of em!
Happy hunting :bigok:
I wouldn't say straight in… but it is the same size externally. You will need to transfer over various parts from your K8, but essentially you should be able to make it work. Not sure about the ECU and loom with manual box though.
Cant imagine anyone just giving you their map….most dont tune the k8 anyway but transplant the kl engine...look up turbonoz he is a great mapper and is well worth paying the price for a map
